GENERAL EVENT INFORMATION
  • Event is on Sunday 16th July 2017
  • ENTRY DEADLINE – MIDNIGHT Monday 10th July 2017
  • Start lists will be available 2 days before the event
  • Team Leaders (only) Briefing (in Reception Area) at 09:30
  • First race is scheduled to start at 10:30
  • Last race will be at approx 16:50
  • Trophy presentation at approx 17:00
  • Late entries will be taken on the day, for any available lane
  • Clubs can enter as many paddlers as they wish in any of the classes
  • Progress from heats to final is the first three places from each of the 3 heats or first 4 places from 2 heats
  • K2 racing can be mixed ability crews and club boats will count towards the Ed McKeever Trophy, a club team competition
  • All club paddlers are welcome and participation certificates will be awarded to Lightning, regional and novice paddlers.

 

SCORING FOR THE ED McKEEVER INTER-CLUB TROPHY
  • Only finals will score points
  • Each K1 final will be scored with 9 points down to 1
  • Each K2 final will be scored with 9 points per paddler down to 2
  • The relay final will be scored with 9 points per paddler down to 2
  • The club scoring the most points will be the winner

 

CLASSES AVAILABLE
  • K1 – 200m and 500m – racing for all standard sprint classes, as in the Handbook, but grouped in time bands, including:
    • Lightnings
    • Paddlers, both senior and junior, that are not yet able to achieve the national sprint times
    • Novices, both senior and junior (novices are allowed to use any style boat).
  • C1 – 200m and 500m
  • C2 – 200m and 500m – only if there is sufficient interest
  • K2 – 200m and 500m
  • Relay – 200m – 4 x K1s in a team (can be mixed ability)
